Princess Consort, You Are the Only Cinnabar Mark in My Heart

She never thought she would really get struck by lightning, but after it hit, she made a spectacular transmigration to another world. In ancient times, she was charming and resourceful, brilliant with words, and full of mischief. Naturally, everyone noticed her, and she was granted in marriage to him. He was the exalted Fourth Prince and the Crown Prince’s own brother. But the woman he loved most married his closest brother and became that man’s secondary consort. He vowed to protect her for the rest of his life. When they met, he bullied her and she put up with him. She knew he loved someone else, yet still fell for him. Knowing he wanted to protect that woman, she helped him do so. But when he caused their child’s death for her sake, she finally chose to leave. She said, “You remind me of something someone once wrote: Perhaps every man has had two women, at least two. If he marries the red rose, in time it becomes a smear of mosquito blood on the wall, while the white rose remains the moonlight outside his window. If he marries the white rose, she becomes a grain of rice stuck to his clothes, while the red rose becomes a cinnabar mole on his heart. She is the moonlight in your heart, and I am the smear of mosquito blood. But I’m tired. Even mosquito blood has its dignity. If I can’t be the cinnabar mole on your heart, I won’t be the mosquito blood that disgusts you. So I’m leaving.” He said, “I’m sorry. Don’t leave me. I know I was wrong. Please give me another chance and let me prove that you’re one of a kind. She was the moon reflected in the water. I understand that now. You are the one and only cinnabar mole on my heart. From now on, I’ll have eyes for no one but you.” When love has become the past, can a wounded heart ever be won back? It was only after I met you that I learned what love is.
