How did I get here? Where is this place? I was standing on the stage at my university graduation ceremony. How did I end up in this godforsaken place? Yi Han recalled the day of his graduation ceremony at the National Defense University. Suddenly, dark clouds gathered, lightning flashed, and the wind howled. A bolt of lightning struck him right on the head. In his final moments, he thought about how he hadn't dated a girl yet and how he had planned to make his mark after graduation. He couldn't accept being struck by lightning, but there was nothing he could do to change it. Yet when he woke up, he found he was still alive, lying in a luxurious room decorated in gold and splendor. It was obviously the home of a wealthy family. He wondered if he was dreaming. Just then, a little boy's clear voice rang out. “Grandpa, why hasn't Brother woken up yet? It's been over three months. Why is he so black all over, and why are his clothes so tattered?” A kindly voice replied, “Xiao Yi, whether he wakes up is up to him.” The door opened, and an old man and a child entered. The old man was dressed elegantly and had a kind face. The little one looked about three years old, especially cute. He was so adorable that Yi Han wanted to pick him up and kiss him. When Yi Han saw them enter, he tried to get up and thank them for saving his life. Suddenly, he noticed that their clothes were different from his and looked like the costumes people wore in period dramas on TV.
“You're awake.” The kind voice snapped Yi Han out of his thoughts. “Yes. Sir, where am I? Thank you for saving my life.” Though he was shocked, he was the top student at the National Defense University, and no one could match his composure. He set his other emotions aside. The most important thing was to understand his situation, so he asked the old man these questions. The old man said kindly, “You don't even recognize me? I'm your grandfather.” But he seemed very upset. This was the grandson he loved most, the one with the greatest potential to become a mage. During an outdoor trial, the boy had encountered a lightning tiger and been struck by the lightning it spat out. His grandfather regretted letting him go out alone, but what had happened could not be undone. All he could do now was make it up to his grandson as best he could. “You're my grandfather? I don't remember. I've lost my memories, and my head hurts,” Yi Han said, pressing both hands to his head. “Han'er, rest for now. I'll come see you again when you're feeling better.” “Okay.”
After the grandfather and grandson left, Yi Han calmed down and collected his thoughts. It turned out he hadn't died, but had arrived in another world. The transmigration back to ancient times that he had read about in novels had happened to him. His first priority was to recover, then learn as much as he could about this world. Fortunately, his soul had landed in the body of a noble, and a genius at that. But could he live up to the boy's reputation? He'd just take things one step at a time. If all else failed, he could pretend to be a fool. What else could he do? He'd had the worst luck imaginable.
