A Good Wife Returns Home

Synopsis

After offending the powerful, she wants to make some money for her mother, who has been in the hospital for years, before something happens to her.

Taking courage from the alcohol, she flags down a car in the street. “Want to buy me? One million will do!”

“Are you worth that much?” the person in the car sneers coldly.

She answers with confidence, “Of course I am! I don’t even have a boyfriend!”

And so, the sharp-tongued Pei Lin gets involved with the cold-hearted Gu Yuanxi, and sparks fly between them.

Afterward, he says, “I’ve never met a woman as shameless as you!”

She grits her teeth. “Well, I’m giving you the chance to see just how shameless I can be!”

Years later, he learns she is about to marry someone else. He pleads with her, “Pei Lin, I’ve never loved anyone the way I love you. That’s why I made mistakes. You have to give me a chance to admit them and make things right.”

She lowers her eyes and strokes her belly with a faint smile. “I really want to refuse to forgive you, but he’ll kick me!”

Just as they are finally about to get back together, they face an unprecedented obstacle. She leaves him, but on the day of his wedding, she appears at the ceremony with their child, smiling radiantly. “I know the Young Master Xi isn’t the kind of man who takes a woman’s innocence and then abandons her. So can you give the two of us an explanation? Will you choose your bride, who’s worth hundreds of millions, or us, mother and child?”

“I’m no good at writing synopses. This will have to do for now!”
