What is marriage? The beginning of two people's lives together, or the end?
You said you would love me for life. You said we would grow old together. Why did everything change in just three short years? Did time change? Did our circumstances change? Or did our hearts change?
When I became pregnant, you were so happy. You held me and said, “Sweetheart, we're having a baby! I can't wait to tell the whole world that we're finally going to have a child!”
I asked you, “Do you think the baby in my belly will be a boy or a girl?”
You said, “Either one would be wonderful!”
“But we're only having one child. Will your mother want a boy? Will she be unhappy if it's a girl?”
“No, my mother's very open-minded. She'll love the baby whether it's a boy or a girl!”
You were so busy, working overtime every day. You didn't even have time to sit down and enjoy a proper dinner with me.
You said, “Sweetheart, I want to give you and our baby the best life possible, so I have to work hard. Please support me!”
I felt terribly hurt, but I still went along with it, smiling as I said, “All right! I'll take care of myself and our baby!”
Your mother, my mother-in-law, showed up in front of me again and again, pointing at me and calling me a parasite who wasted her son's hard-earned money every day. But you were never there for me!
When she found out that the baby in my belly was a girl, she dragged me to the operating table and had our six-month-old baby ripped from my body. Where were you, her father?
She told you that I had insisted on having an abortion to keep my figure, and that I had forced her to sign the consent form. You believed her because she was your dear mother. You didn't ask me even once whether it was what I wanted. You forgot how desperately I had looked forward to her birth.
Your mother hurt me again and again, leaving me battered and broken. And when I needed you most, you kept pouring salt into my wounds, making them fester and rot until they could never heal.
I tried so hard to change, to become the daughter-in-law your mother liked and a good wife.
But all I got in return was your betrayal.
When my mother-in-law stood before me with a pregnant woman by her side, I was utterly crushed.
My world collapsed completely. There was nothing but darkness. My heart was so shattered it could never be put back together.
When love held nothing but pain, I gave up, because reality had already slapped me hard across the face.
My dear, I've turned away. Love has become a wound, and now it must be forgotten forever!
When I care about you, you can be my sky, my everything. When I no longer care, everything about you will have nothing to do with me!
