Your Majesty, Please Choose a Consort

[A quick intro]

She transmigrates and becomes an empress. Now that’s a powerful position.

The ministers want her to take a husband and concubines, fill her harem, and produce heirs?

No! She’ll never agree to that.

She’s a modern woman. She grew up being taught that marriage means one man and one woman, together for life, never to part.

She is determined to be in charge of her own marriage, but the old ministers won’t have it. The concubines cry, throw tantrums, and threaten to hang themselves, while the men pull every trick in the book to compete for her favor. Even the famously aloof Young Master Xuan Mo takes the initiative and throws himself at her.

[This version hit the spot, right?]

She is the empress of the great Ximing kingdom: cold, ruthless, arrogant, and lustful, willing to turn against her own family to seize the throne.

Rumor has it she’s a flirt who leaves lovers everywhere, and that her life’s great passion is reclining on a handsome man’s lap.

Rumor has it countless handsome men have bled and wept for her, all vying for a place at her side.

Rumor has it she captured the four most beautiful gentlemen and made them her consorts.

Rumor has it the warhorses of every nation are at her borders, eyeing the great kingdom of Ximing, and that she once faced a million-strong army all by herself.

Remember: everything above is just rumor.

[What the heroine really thinks]

These idiots all look down on her because she’s a woman and think she can’t rule a kingdom?

They want to take her realm and carve it up among themselves?

Come on, then! I don’t care whether you’re a prince or a royal grandson. If you dare fight me for my territory, I’ll capture you and put you to work in my harem.

And while I’m at it, I’ll capture an unparalleled beauty and make him my empress, so he can give the Gong family heirs and carry on the family line.

At this rate, it looks like we’ll get a male version of a palace intrigue drama.

Ladies, come on in and take a dive. There are plenty of handsome men waiting at the bottom.

Note: Not a reverse harem. One man, one woman, for life.
