She was a pampered young lady of the imperial palace, but palace schemes plunged her into the depths of hell, and raging flames destroyed her peaceful life.
Fate was hard to predict: a treasured jewel in someone’s palm became a drifting weed, and the truth was hard to find, like a lotus in a pond hidden by mist.
The six kingdoms clashed in a turbulent world, with layer upon layer of clouds and fog obscuring the truth.
Yet there was one man who helped her break through the clouds and soar to the highest heavens.
When they first met in the mountains, she was wary at every turn, while he remained calm.
In the perilous tomb, her memories began to return, and he risked his life to help her.
Across the six kingdoms, she rode fearlessly into battle, and he stayed by her side.
Who took her hand when she was helpless in her anguish, drawing her gently into his arms?
Who stayed close through the blood and chaos, warming her heart with tenderness?
As the veil over the truth slowly lifted,
would you join me in striking down our enemies, fighting for dominion over the six kingdoms, and composing a song of peace and prosperity?
Preview One:
“How long have you been in these mountains, miss?”
Though phrased as a question, his voice was slightly cold, carrying the deep resonance unique to a man.
Yu Ruxi kept walking. Distracted and languid, she replied,
“Oh, me? I’ve been here since I was little.”
The man’s expression did not change, but his gaze grew more profound. His thin lips curled slightly as he watched the figure ahead and slowly spoke a few words, low and enchanting, striking straight to the heart.
“Who would have thought someone from the palace could endure the hardship of cultivating in these remote mountains?”
At his words, Yu Ruxi stopped. Her heart tightened, her brows furrowed, and her gaze changed abruptly, as if two blades had shot from her eyes. She slowly turned to look at the man behind her, dark and unfathomable as night, yet able to sway hearts with a few words and a smile.
Preview Two:
Yu Ruxi glanced at the black-clad figure who had appeared out of nowhere like a ghost, and every hair on her body stood on end. But her hands did not hesitate: she immediately struck at him with her palm. The man countered with a palm strike, catching her attack, while his other hand tugged at the black cloth covering his face. In the moonlight, a stunning face was revealed.
Yu Ruxi’s attack stopped at once. She stared at the familiar face before her, then slowly let out a breath and put both hands to her little heart, which had nearly stopped.
That scared me to death. I thought I’d run into a ghost.
She whipped around and glared at the man who had scared her half to death, speaking each word with emphasis:
“Listen, Young Master Qing, next time could you show up like a normal ‘person’?”
She put particular emphasis on the word “person,” making her indignation perfectly clear.
Halfway through, she realized something didn’t add up. She spun around and faced Qing Ye.
“What are you doing here?”
Qing Ye looked at Yu Ruxi, who had spent all that time getting to the point, and a faint, almost imperceptible smile crossed his face.
“I’m looking for something.”
“Looking for something?” Yu Ruxi gave Qing Ye a couple of pointed looks, then said coolly,
“One minute you’re searching the imperial mausoleum, the next you’re searching the palace. You really dare to go anywhere.”
