The General’s Four Daughters

She knew securities, the stock market, foreign currency... Anything that could turn money into more money, she was good at it. In the business, they called her “Money Knows No Bounds.” Apart from money, she was good at nothing.

She had an unknown background, killed without blinking, and was cold and ruthless. She was an agent for an anti-government organization, though “agent” was just a polite term. In reality, she was an assassin.

She was a trendsetting pioneer who brought art into every detail of daily life. She believed that eating, drinking, and having fun were the highest purposes in life.

She was a star student at Zhengke Medical College, with an obsessive interest in human anatomy. When she had nothing else to do, she would operate on people and make testing their bodily functions her entertainment. A woman clung to a tree behind her with one hand at the edge of a cliff, while her other hand held tightly to someone who was already dangling over the precipice, trying to pull her up.

Looking down along the cliffside, she saw an unfathomably deep abyss, as if it would swallow everything that came near.

The woman hanging over the precipice was holding on to another woman with her free hand. She was struggling, afraid that if she let go, the two people below her would fall into the bottomless chasm that devoured everything.

What was going on here? Were there really three people hanging off the cliff?

“Sister Qin, let go of my hand, or you and Sister Xuan will both fall!” The woman dangling at the very bottom spoke urgently, hoping the people above would listen.

“Ning Xia, shut up! I'm not letting go,” the woman at the top said impatiently. She looked at Qin, whom she was holding, and Qin was holding Xia. They all looked ready to give out. She glanced up and saw Qian refusing to let go as she tried to pull them up from the cliff.

“Qian, let go. You have to live on for us.”

“No! If you won't give up on them, I won't give up on you either.” Her eyes held only the most unshakable determination.
