The Peerless Empress

[My first abandoned beginner’s novel. Don’t read it. I have some shame.]

She is the celebrated literary genius of Su Xiang City, skilled in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting, and known to everyone as a delicate young lady.

He is peerlessly elegant, poised, and unfazed, a master strategist. The world hails him as the “God of War Lingxiao.”

He dotes on her.

“I can’t stand the Third Prince abducting innocent girls.” She blinks, gazing up at him with wide, watery eyes.

“Then we’ll take down his hideout.”

“A pair of thieves stole my little porcelain figurine,” she says pitifully.

“Then we’ll cripple them.”

He dotes on her to the utmost, then suddenly lets go. Was it planned all along, or is there more to it?

When he leaves, schemes descend and misfortune strikes. Her family is destroyed, and she tears away the mask of fragility, finally unleashing the sharpness she has concealed for years.

Does his absence mean she has to waste away in tears and die of despair? What a joke!

“I don’t harm people, but people harm me. I believe in fate, but I won’t obey it. If that’s how it is, then I’ll turn the world upside down and fight to the death!” She swears before her family’s graves. She will reclaim every last drop of blood owed for this terrible grudge!

She was born proud and defiant. When she stands before the world again, she will command the winds and clouds, her back to the world. Watch as she crushes schemes, overcomes every obstacle, and advances step by step until she looks down on all living things and reigns supreme!
