Reincarnated as a cannon-fodder female supporting character in a story about a saintly heroine, she vows to rewrite the plot and escape her doomed fate.
First she pursues the devoted male supporting character, then she takes on the saintly heroine. The road ahead looks bleak.
A tragic hero to her left, an icy female supporting character to her right. She has a lot on her plate.
(As she rewrites the story, she discovers that the saintly heroine is the least of her worries. It’s the minor characters lying in wait who are truly dangerous;
The devoted male supporting character turns out to be a scheming wolf in sheep’s clothing. She starts out trying to make him hers, but ends up being the one swept off her feet;
Old grudges from the previous generation surface, plunging the martial world into endless bloodshed;
And along the way, she finds her brother a wife.)
Excerpt 1:
Seeing the little maid Lihua crying so prettily, she really did plant a loud kiss on her cheek.
The hero’s reaction: “You were like that before, but now you’re even… with other women…”
Gong Ningfeng: I’m really crying now, big brother! I’m not into girls!
The saintly heroine’s reaction: Whenever she caught herself staring at her, she always tried to hide behind someone else, as if afraid Gong Ningfeng would pounce on her.
Gong Ningfeng: “Miss Lin, you’re overthinking it. I’m not interested in women. And even if I were, I wouldn’t be interested in a saintly heroine.”
Excerpt 2:
If I don’t teach you a lesson, you’ll think you can walk all over me. I’ve been quiet, so you think I’m easy to bully, is that it?
She set down her chopsticks and stood up. Instead of getting angry, she laughed. “Heh. Little girl, you’ve reminded me today: as a wicked woman from the demonic sect, I really should act the part.”
She walked over to Lu Hongjian, stopped beside him, and looked at the little girl. “Today, you’re going to see just what the eldest daughter of the Xuanyin Sect is like, and find out if those rumors about the martial world are true.”
She swiftly grabbed his head with both hands and pressed her lips to his, deliberately making a loud smacking sound.
Then she immediately let go and yelled at the little girl with all the imperiousness of a queen, “I flirted with him, so what are you going to do about it?”
Excerpt 3:
“Lu Hongjian, you’re a natural-born schemer. How could I have been so blind as to think you were an innocent, decent man? Go sleep on the floor!” As she spoke, she grabbed the quilt from the bed and threw it at him with all her might.
(A sweet, cozy one-on-one romance. There may be a few shocking moments at the beginning, but the later story is absolutely adorable. Everyone except the hero and heroine who fails to read the room is doomed to be cannon fodder.)
