Because of ongoing exams, internships, and coursework, updates will be on hold for a while. The author hasn't abandoned the story, though.
Please be understanding. We're almost seniors. Waaaah~ [Prologue]
Su Qinyi and Song Qi had nothing to do with each other, until a game brought them together.
Su Qinyi and Jiang Yuan had nothing to do with each other, until an ethical dilemma brought them together.
Su Qinyi and Kong Rui had nothing to do with each other, until a misunderstanding brought them together.
This story is entangled with love, family, and friendship, but has nothing to do with happiness, a perfect ending, or joy. [Story]
Su Qinyi had lived on her own since childhood. After enduring too much ugliness and too many separations, the words “sense of security” were nothing more than an unattainable luxury to her. So she had no choice but to fight life and resist fate through rebellion. But by the time the truth began to tear everything apart, she no longer even had the strength to cry.
The thing that's truly frightening about life is seeing everything right in front of you, yet being powerless to change it. Wang Binghan's father went bankrupt when she was very young, and her mother left because of it. Resentful, her father sold her to someone else, and she spent her childhood enduring abuse from her stepfather. Later, she met Wei Jun and loved him without regard for the consequences or the past... Later still, she and Su Qinyi became inseparable friends, hitting it off immediately. Just as life was about to settle down, an unexpected betrayal dragged her into another abyss.
The thing that's truly frightening about reality is suddenly having nothing when you're completely unprepared. Song Qi had always been an excellent student, always held in the highest regard, yet behind him lay a past no one knew about. While everyone admired his achievements, no one could see the wounds inside him. Only he knew the memories of that past. He never spoke of them, because no one would understand.
To hurt someone is to lay their past bare before the world. Zhou Yi was always indifferent. He was unmoved by things and unaffected by personal gains or losses. Anyone could see through him, yet no one could understand him. By the end of the story, someone who had once been so calm had become completely hysterical.
Perhaps being at peace simply means that no one understands your joys or sorrows. That's all. Amid this tangle of love and hate, and these moral and ethical conflicts, we can never know who is right or wrong among Su Qinyi, Song Qi, Zhou Yi, Wang Binghan, Ling Meng, Wei Jun, Hu Xiao, Jiang Yuan, and Kong Rui.
Meanwhile, life is like a vast whirlpool. It slowly draws in everyone around it, then suddenly accelerates, stripping away the masks they all depend on to survive.
In broad daylight, there is ultimately nowhere for those wounds to hide...
