Fated to Kitty, the Arrogant CEO

He arrived in Ancheng out of nowhere and built the unfathomably powerful Jinshi Group in next to no time. He was cold, quiet, and devastatingly handsome. She was the daughter of the Song family, a wealthy heiress born into a distinguished family. Her mother died when she was eight, and her father treasured her like the apple of his eye. She was guileless and outspoken, and one of the most beautiful women in Ancheng. On the day she ran away from her wedding, fate brought them together in the most melodramatic way imaginable, and she accidentally caught him taking a bath. They signed a one-year contract, using each other to get what they wanted. He kept her at arm's length one moment and drew her close the next, always knowing just how far to go. But as they spent their days together, she fell deeper and deeper for him. It was only when the Xu family fell that she learned she had been nothing but a carefully calculated pawn in his hands from the very beginning. Then came news of his engagement to her younger sister. She held her head high and congratulated them as if nothing were wrong, then turned away with tears streaming down her face and her heart shattered. She should leave, shouldn't she? With no more use for her, she was just a discarded pawn. He searched for her like a madman, turning Ancheng upside down, but found nothing. To avoid being found, she cut off her beloved long hair and wore heavy makeup every day. Yet she could not bring herself to leave Ancheng, just in case she could catch a glimpse of him now and then. When news of their wedding finally came, she gave up on him for good. “May we never meet again in this life.” She sent him that text on the day of the wedding, then left Ancheng for good. What she did not know was that those words made him abandon the entire wedding. At long last, when the layers of mystery were peeled away, she learned that the hideous scar running down his back from shoulder to waist was there because of her. And he finally learned that she was the woman he wanted to marry, the one he had been searching for in secret all along.
