The Ghost-Hunting Heir's Wife from a Poor Family

Lu Xiaoguo, dirt poor and with barely a thing to her name, marries into the prince's household in exchange for two dou of rice, to bring good fortune to a sick man. When she sees her ailing, handsome husband, her desire gets the better of her. She plants her hands on her hips and shouts, "Hey, you evil ghost, get off him! Don't crush my husband. Can't you see he's almost suffocating? Are you blind?" The evil ghost is bewildered. I can see that perfectly well, but my whole point is to kill him... They say the heir of the Prince of Ning is gravely ill and won't live to see his twentieth birthday. In a desperate bid to save their beloved son, the prince and princess offer a hefty reward to any unmarried woman willing to marry into the family and bring him good fortune. Three brides in a row failed to survive until dawn, so they doubled the reward. A great reward brings out brave women! Lu Xiaoguo tightens her belt, grabs a knife, and climbs into the bridal sedan chair.
