Shangguan Xiang, a talented young woman of Dongyu, becomes embroiled in a wildly publicized scandal with Song Yitian after an accident. To get rid of Song Yitian, a walking magnet for romantic entanglements who keeps seducing women wherever he goes, the emperor issues a marriage decree, forcing the two polar opposites to become husband and wife. After their wedding, Song Yitian abandons his family and wife to roam the martial world and pursue his heroic mission of saving the nation and its people. Meanwhile, Shangguan Xiang sets out to fulfill the Song family's mandate to continue the family line. Throwing caution to the wind, she follows her husband's lead and chases him from the imperial capital all the way to Yizhou.
