Endless snowy feathers, butterflies dancing; shimmering waters and clouds, a chilling wind.
Five hundred years ago, the Feather Butterfly sleeping in the Amethyst Cave was awakened by her elder sister. Together with her sister and senior fellow disciple, she withdrew from the world and lived in seclusion.
Five hundred years later, longing for the human world drove her to do everything she could to reach it. There she met the one she loved and endured the helplessness of standing between life and death, and of humans and demons belonging to different worlds... Just as they were about to be together at last, a sudden upheaval changed everything overnight. The lover who had saved her the day before now wanted to kill her with a sword, and the purpose for which her sister had awakened her was...
Bing Ling was the young lord of the Ice Clan. Just as he was about to become the clan's rightful heir, internal strife forced him to conceal his identity and go into hiding. Yet again and again, unknown enemies tried to assassinate, entrap, and frame him. Who hated him so deeply, and why were they doing this?
Humans and demons are destined to part, like strangers on opposite shores. When the flowers on the other side bloom, the phoenix returns; the soul-binding bells ring out a heart-wrenching song...
Excerpt One:
Before Yun Han could pull her up with all his strength, she felt several more forces reach up from the abyss and wrap around her, tugging her farther and farther down.
Seeing Yun Han being dragged lower and lower, Yu Die hurriedly cried, “Brother Yun, let go!”
“Let go! You'll fall!” Yun Han ignored her and stubbornly clung to her wrist.
Yu Die steeled herself and raised her free hand behind her head to pull the white feather from her hair. But before she could stab herself with it, Yun Han fell alongside her.
Excerpt Two:
As soon as Jing Shu heard Miao Sheng say, “Kill her,” he raised his hand. Fine spider silk wound around his fingers. He abruptly pointed toward Yu Die, and the strands shot straight at her. In a moment, they would pierce her heart.
Yu Die could only watch the silk fly toward her, unable to fight back. She shut her eyes in fear, waiting for the searing pain of being pierced. But there was no pain, only the steady patter of dripping water.
Yu Die opened her eyes and saw Yun Han standing in front of her. The spider silk had pierced his chest and passed through him, stopping just short of her own chest.
Excerpt Three:
“Yesterday you said that no matter what I was, you loved me. Was that a lie?” Yu Die asked.
“Hmph. I said that because I didn't know you were a demon. I didn't mean it. Who knew it was actually true? I'm human. How could I be with a demon? You're so naive!” With that, he plunged the copper-coin sword into Yu Die's heart.
As her blood dripped down, red flowers began to bloom one after another across the once-green grass.
Excerpt Four:
“Sorry... I don't want to keep you around anymore, so please... go... in... peace!” A flower from the other shore gathered in Yu Die's hand, and she was about to send it flying at Yun Han.
Suddenly, she stopped and clutched her chest. “Forget it. I'll spare you today. Let's go!” She swept away with a wave of her sleeve.
