She thinks she’s a freak. Rebirth is such an unbelievable fantasy for anyone!
And yet, somehow, she really has been reborn, and more than once.
Damn it! Does the universe have to mess with her this badly?! At least the last few times she was still in the modern world. Why did she have to be reborn in ancient times now?
They say that in this era, even an unremarkable maid can scheme to kill someone. How is she supposed to stay alive?
This time, she really doesn’t want to die again. More precisely, she doesn’t want to run into that man again.
She’s already died three times. Even the densest person could come up with a few last words after that, right?
And her experience tells her that whenever she meets that man, her time is up.
She’s a freak who keeps being reborn, so why does she keep meeting the same man each time? Could he have been reborn too?
Damn it! Was he reborn again just to take her life?
What did she ever do to him? Why does he always have to kill her like this?
***Excerpt One***
Freshly reborn, she kept her eyes shut, her mind racing, when she suddenly tasted the bitter tang of blood in her mouth.
She snapped her eyes open and looked down, nearly fainting from shock. She was wearing bright red ancient-style clothes, and a piece of red cloth was swaying in front of her.
Damn it! Think you can bully her just because she’s from the modern world? She knew all about ancient bridal attire, okay? She’d seen it on TV. But who was she about to marry? She’d finally made it to ancient times and wanted to see those wickedly handsome princes from her novels. Why had she come back to life only to find herself getting married, already promised to someone? How tragic!
“Pfft!” A mouthful of blackish blood burst from her lips, and the burning pain in her airway was unmistakable.
Had this body really poisoned itself? Couldn’t it have taken effect sooner? The original owner wasn’t even fully dead yet, so why had she been reborn in her body? She’d only just arrived and was already about to die? If she died this time, could she be reborn again? She hadn’t even met one of those wickedly handsome princes. Dying from poison now would be such a waste!
She kept muttering, “No, no, no, no... don’t die.”
With a clatter, the bride fainted inside the sedan chair.
***Excerpt Two***
“Is there any way to cure this poison? Can she still be saved?” A tall, imposing man stood there, his face full of anguish, asking the doctor.
“Sir, the young madam... the young madam did take poison, but she hasn’t fainted because of the poison. She’s just passed out.” The doctor wiped the beads of sweat from his forehead.
***Excerpt Three***
“I want a divorce! I’m divorcing you! Every time I see you, I die. Seeing you is like seeing the Black and White Impermanence!”
“Didn’t you already faint in the bridal sedan chair?”
Could this picky man stop bringing up that mortifying incident? What a disgrace! Could there be another bride in history who fainted from fright inside her bridal sedan chair?
“Uh, well, actually...”
“You said you die every time you see me. Fainting counts as dying, and you’ve already died once. So you won’t die again. Let’s just live together.”
This is Er’s second novel. I hope everyone will support it and help it do well! The hero and heroine are pure in body and heart. There’s humor, and there may be a little angst too. I hope you’ll enjoy it.
