The family is so poor the walls are bare, and they’re nearly out of food. She has to face a wicked stepmother and a shameless husband who is bedridden, wears a funeral face every day, and acts as if everyone owes him a fortune. Watch as the timid village girl takes charge of her life. With her superb medical skills and a steady stream of ideas for making money, she builds a fortune, defeats her wicked stepmother, becomes a pillar of support for her younger siblings, and takes excellent care of her grim-faced husband.
