A Prosperous Age of Imperial Favor: The Lady of a Great House

After the Seventh Miss of the Chu household returned from the imperial palace, she fell seriously ill. When she woke up, they said she had lost her memory.

Everyone said she was a sickly girl anyone could bully. Chu Yun herself agreed that people could bully her, but she certainly wasn’t the sort who liked being pushed around.

An imperial decree granted her the title of princess. With this prestigious status, she feared neither the imperial relatives nor anyone else, and could walk wherever she pleased without anyone daring to gossip.

[The Empress’s Coronation]

One day, Su Han stood beneath the golden sunlight and said to her calmly, “The Empress Dowager says it’s time to appoint an empress. I’ve thought it over, and you’re the only one suitable for the position.”

Chu Yun was stunned, then laid out her conditions. “Your Majesty, I’ll be honest with you. My standards for a husband are strict. The man I marry must have eyes and a heart for me alone, every moment of every day. He can’t even look at or think about another woman. You’re a peerless hero, unmatched under heaven. One day, you’ll have three thousand beauties in your harem. You need an empress broad-minded enough to accommodate them all, but I’m narrow-minded and can’t stand even a grain of sand in my eye.”

Su Han smiled. “A narrow-minded empress who can’t stand even a grain of sand in her eye is exactly what I want. My harem will have room for the empress alone. One more person would be too crowded.”
