The Second Young Master of the Xu Family

He is the aloof, arrogant second young master of a wealthy family. She is a silly, clueless airhead. He lectures her to remember the four virtues of women: words, conduct, virtue, and appearance. At home, she must obey her husband; outside, she must obey her husband. She must keep her eyes down, never flirt with other men, and always carry a copy of The Admonitions for Women. If she breaks the rules, she’ll get a spanking. Unable to take it any longer, Su Xiaoyu leaves him a note: “I’ve fallen for someone else. I’m not marrying you. Xu Xicheng, I’m out.” In the third month of spring, she travels south to Jiangnan. While enjoying a lovely boat ride on the Qinhuai River, Su Xiaoyu suddenly spots a stern-looking man standing on the large boat coming toward her. He shouts in a dark voice, “Su, Xiao, Yu!” Oh my, he’s come after her. * “Honey, shall we have a baby?” “Are we raising a pig? One of you is enough.” She is mortified. * Then one day, the balance of power between them suddenly shifts. “Honey, I saw that the ad from your company’s CEO’s office for a female assistant had a typo, so I fixed it for you.” “What did you change?” “I changed it to male assistant.” He is speechless… “Honey, what do you think of the book I wrote?” He glances at The Admonitions for Husbands, and sweat starts beading on his forehead. “Remember the four virtues for husbands: words, appearance, virtue, and conduct. You’d better memorize them, or you’ll get a spanking!” He starts sweating profusely.
