Dreams of the Red Chamber: Heaven and Earth

Whenever I read Dream of the Red Chamber, I am left with an aching sense of injustice. So I take up my clumsy pen to give voice to the turmoil in my heart. I will range across heaven and earth to give Sister Lin a life unlike any other! They say fate is as sharp as a blade, but it is no more than a quarrel between a few muddleheaded fools... How could anyone bear to see that woman, fair as an immortal, weep until she dies young? Even if fate cannot be defied, I will defy heaven and change her destiny... She, Lin Daiyu, is the only touch of green in my ten thousand years of loneliness. I will protect her, even if I must overturn the thirty-three heavens and slay every god and Buddha in the sky... He is the most mysterious immortal in heaven. To save me, he would gladly give every drop of his blood; to protect me, he would dare to stand against heaven. How could such devotion compare to a mere drop of kindness repaid? For him, I would give up everything, just to stand at his side and never be parted, in heaven or on earth...
