The Demon’s Roar Shakes the Nine Heavens

She was born the very embodiment of bewitching allure, and shared dominion over the forces of good and evil with Hongjun. But after being framed for reasons unknown, she was imprisoned in a black hole.

Grief and hatred twisted together in her heart. She swore to make everyone who had ever harmed her wish they were dead.

“Hongjun, you and Nuwa conspired against me and brought me to this. Three thousand years from now, I will use my resentment to return to the human world and overturn your universe, staining all heaven and earth with blood. I, Ji Yao, swear in my name as a Heaven-Demon: when I am reborn, my demon clan will rule heaven and earth, and throw the human world into chaos.”

After three thousand years of waiting, she was reborn in a single day and turned the Nine Heavens upside down.

What are gods to her? No more than grains of sand.

What are Buddhas to her? No more than a cloud of dust.

What are demons to her? They are nothing she couldn't crush with a light press of her finger.

What is Nuwa to her? Nothing but a snake-bodied monster she created.

What is Hongjun to her? Even though he is the only one who has existed alongside her since time immemorial, she will make him suffer to the depths of his soul. He will repay tenfold the pain she once endured.

He is the Primordial Creator, the one who created heaven, earth, and the three realms.

One mistake left him haunted by regret for three thousand years.

He waited three thousand years for the day he could repay the debt he owed.

He created the gods, yet he would destroy them with his own hands for her.

He enlightened the Buddhas, yet he would lead them astray for her.

He nurtured the demons, yet he would slay them for her.

For her, he would turn from a god into a demon, all for one smile from her.

Their grievances, three thousand years old, are entangled once more. Is it her resentment, or his tribulation?

Only after their struggle do they understand that yin and yang, good and evil, are not merely opposites. They can coexist.

Ji Yao's bold declarations

Bewitching and seductive: “Nuwa, I'm a demon, and so are you. Don't think that just because others call you the Mother of Humanity, you're really human. A demon is a demon, no matter how it changes. But you, I'm afraid you can't even be a proper demon. Neither human nor demon, what use is there in keeping you in this world?”

Domineering and arrogant: “What is heaven and earth? Nothing but a product of chaos. If you can make it exist, I can destroy it. Hongjun, I told you I'd overturn your universe and stain all heaven and earth with blood.”
