One, two...
All right, so he married this many women behind her back. Even if he's the emperor, or whatever the hell he is, she won't forgive him.
“What is this?” He took the sheet, so pale it made him bristle, skimmed it, then tossed it to the ground in displeasure and asked with a trace of anger.
“Can't the emperor read? I want a divorce!” So what if he's the emperor? Does Heaven really have a policy of sparing life? Why else would she have transmigrated into another person's concubine, and of all people, ended up with such a womanizer? No matter how handsome he is, that's no excuse.
Divorce? What was that supposed to mean?
He frowned slightly, then awkwardly picked up the torn paper and read it again carefully.
“I refuse!” Divorce him? Had this woman burned her brain when she was sick?
“I don't care!” She raised her chin smugly and strode out of the imperial study.
A bold smile played on his lips, and he frowned slightly, because the last line on that paper read: “Across a thousand rivers and mountains, love is always there.”
One sheet, two sheets...
“Xiu'er, are they all posted?” Lin Li raised an eyebrow in displeasure at the dozens of notices.
“Miss, everything is ready! Miss, are you really going to do this?” Though Xiu'er couldn't understand her mistress's plans, the mistress was still the mistress and she was only a servant. But wasn't this a little unfair to the emperor?
“Of course I am! Why wouldn't I? Come on, Xiu'er, let's go home and wait for all those handsome men to come knocking!” She threw her head back and laughed, turned around, and made a graceful about-face.
Handsome men, handsome men! From now on, I'm Lin Li, and I'm spoken for!
“A marriage notice? What is this woman up to?” He had thought that if he let her leave the palace, she'd learn how harsh the world was and willingly come back to him. He never imagined she'd start looking for a husband out there. If Yusheng hadn't brought him this notice, he would still be in the dark.
“Your Majesty, should we use any means necessary to bring the Noble Consort back to the palace?” Seeing Shui Yunhen's displeasure, he lowered his head and asked.
“No need! I'll handle it myself!” He tore the paper in his hand to shreds, though a sinister smile played on his lips.
My beloved consort, you want to find a husband? I'll make it happen!
She had been tricked into returning to the palace for no reason. Not only had Shui Yunhen not died, he was actually doing better than before.
Fine. If you won't let me leave the palace, I'll show you what “invincible” means!
“Get out!” He kicked the woman away. Though he should have been furious, he was much gentler with Lin Li. “My beloved consort, are you jealous?”
“Jealous? Your Majesty, let me tell you something. In all my life, I've never even learned how to spell the word ‘jealous.’ I came here only to tell you that wherever you go, I'll follow you, Lin Li, until you agree to let me marry!” She turned away in disgust, afraid she might accidentally punch that handsome face.
“Are you going to follow me to the latrine, too?” he teased.
“Yes!” Lin Li replied without hesitation.
“Very well. Yusheng, take us to the latrine!”
Synopsis of my new novel, The CEO's Loveless Marriage:
Four years ago, she left him while carrying his child.
Four years later, when she appeared before him again, they had lost the ability to love or be loved.
An excerpt from four years ago:
“Do you love me?” The smile on his lips grew more pronounced, a bloodthirsty grin that seemed about to swallow him whole.
“I do!” The man before her was her one and only.
“To love me is to destroy me! I can't accept your love!” He laughed aloud, his voice chilling to the heart.
An excerpt from four years later:
“You lied to me!” He lowered his head to face the look-alike before him, gripping the woman beside him so tightly she had no chance to escape.
“So what?” Haoyu would always be hers.
Lin Hao, you'll never get the child back, not in this lifetime.
“Let's get remarried!” He pulled her hand, trying to lead her away, but she shoved him off with all her strength.
She picked up Haoyu, who was hiding behind her, then deliberately held out her slender hand, showing the platinum diamond ring on her ring finger.
“But I'm already married!”
