Princess Ping’an has been frail since childhood, and is therefore doted on. At thirteen, she is given Jifeng, the son of a disgraced official, as her personal attendant, and falls in love with him at first sight. But soon, a palace coup erupts. Ping’an’s imperial brother kills their father and sends her far away to marry into a foreign land. On the journey, rebels from that land ambush her. Just as all seems lost, a martial artist rescues her, but Jifeng dies saving her with his life. At Jifeng’s request, Wen De, the martial arts alliance leader, takes Ping’an in and accepts her as his last disciple. Three years later, Ping’an enters the martial world and happens upon Mo Li, the right-hand envoy of an evil sect. Mo Li has the same face as Jifeng, and Ping’an is convinced he is the man she knew three years ago, having lost his memory. She follows him everywhere and refuses to leave his side. Suspicious of Ping’an’s background, Mo Li intends to take her to the sect’s headquarters, but Wen De and dissidents within the sect intervene, each trying to claim her. Just as Mo Li begins to feel something extraordinary for Ping’an, she suddenly discovers that he is not, in fact, the man she once knew.
