This book analyzes the inheritance and innovation of local chronicles in Sichuan in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China in terms of arrangement and content. It selects representative local chronicles from various regions inside and outside the province as the object of case study. Comparing the compilation method with the local chronicles outside the province, it is believed that the local chronicles in Sichuan not only retain the traces of the compilation of ancient local chronicles, but also show the continuous exploration of scientific enlightenment in the inland areas, showing the historical trend from ancient local chronicles to modern enlightenment textbooks.
