Since the founding of Rome, the history of Italy has been a history of city building. This book uses urban space as the warp and history as the weft to weave a magnificent picture of Italian history. During this journey across time and space, we can have an in-depth understanding of its history and culture. In the history of Italy's development, urban culture is closely related to people. "Research on Regional and National History" (Volume 1) is one of the collective achievements of the World History Discipline of the Department of History at East China Normal University. In terms of national history, there is German history and Russian history; in terms of regional history, there is the history of Mediterranean civilization; in terms of cross-regional aspects, there is global history as a link of connection and a new perspective.
