In 2015, the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government launched the "Thousand Village Stories' 'Five Ones' Action Plan", which is a major cultural project to excavate, protect and inherit the historical and cultural heritage of ancient villages. The action plan is organized and coordinated by the Provincial Agricultural Office, and jointly implemented by the Chinese Farmers Development Research Center of Zhejiang A&F University, the Zhejiang Farmers Development Research Center, and the China Famous Village Transformation and Farmers Development Collaborative Innovation Center. It is supported by the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government and the Provincial Party Committee Propaganda Department. Governor Yuan Jiajun writes a preface respectively, and Wang Huizhong, Ge Huijun, and Huang Xuming serve as directors of the editorial board. This book is divided into eight topics: "landscapes livable, good neighborly relations, farming and reading to inherit the family, honest service to the country, celebrities and wise men, rural folk customs, skilled craftsmen, and famous specialties". It tells the humanistic stories of ancient villages in Zhejiang, presents the colorful style of Jiangnan rural history and culture, and shows the infinite charm of Chinese farming civilization.
