This book positions Zhang Xianzhong as a peasant uprising leader who made serious mistakes. The book only gives a profile description of him, but even so, it gives equal emphasis to both affirmation and criticism. This is not to criticize the ancients by today's standards, but to learn some lessons from his failures.
