Comrade Zhao Jiangtao was admitted to Tsinghua University in 2005 and graduated with a master's degree in 2011. Inspired by the Tsinghua spirit of "go to the west, to the frontiers, and to the places where the motherland needs it most", he gave up the preferential treatment in big cities and chose to work in Xinjiang without hesitation. In the past few years, from the Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe District) to the Organization Department of the Autonomous Region Party Committee, step by step, I have worked hard and diligently in all positions, and rapidly grown into a young and outstanding organization cadre. As an old Xinjiang native and a veteran organization cadre, I am very pleased. I have been paying close attention to Jiang Tao since he started publishing his village notes. Now that these notes have been compiled and published through Tsinghua University Press, I think, as the author said, I hope it will help more people improve or change their understanding of Xinjiang and the rural areas of southern Xinjiang, thereby eliminating misunderstandings and barriers, enhancing mutual understanding between ethnic groups and regions, and promoting the integration of different ideas.
