In the spring of 1994, I was transferred from the Organization Department of the Provincial Party Committee to Changshan City as deputy secretary of the Municipal Party Committee. On the second day after taking office, I went downstairs to familiarize myself with the situation. Among the six counties under the city's administration, I chose Licheng first because I participated in the "Four Cleanup" movement there thirty years ago. I have indelible memories and longings for those years, and my desire to revisit my hometown is naturally very strong and prominent. The streets in the county are no longer the cross-shaped streets of the past, nor are they narrow, short, low-lying and uneven streets; there are wide and flat asphalt roads with five vertical and five horizontal directions, rows of unique buildings, parks with lush flowers and trees that are pleasant all year round, and lively and bustling scenes with busy traffic, all of which make it difficult for me to find the shadow of the small town back then.

This book studies the combat performance of both sides' warships in detail, relying on both sides' post-war reports and damage records for details, stripping away the true and false grand narratives and heroic feats in the naval battle, letting the facts speak for themselves, and on this basis, it conducts a technical reflection on the naval battle and its impact.
