Zaitsev (1881-1972) is a representative writer of Russian diaspora literature in the Silver Age and a typical writer of Russian neorealism in the early 20th century. Zaitsev's creations have a wide range of genres and diverse themes, providing precious artistic materials for perceiving the life and culture of Russian expatriates outside Russia, reflecting on the literary and artistic trends in Russia, and recalling Russian literary classics. This book selects Zaitsev's representative novels written in different periods as the research object, analyzes their artistic characteristics and thematic implications, examines the elements of impressionism, expressionism, symbolism, and spiritual realism in these novels, and reveals the concept of neorealism represented by Zaitsev's creation.
