性别与国家:晚清江浙地区女性公共人化研究
Zhang Yuanyuan
Before the "transitional era", the living conditions of women in the Qing Dynasty were mostly small-footed and illiterate. They basically lived in a "shielded living area composed of family and friends" - that is, the private sphere, with almost no participation in public life. It was not until modern times that China's special historical changes brought opportunities for changes in women's status. This book combines regional history (Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions) with social history (gender history), introduces a new imported concept - "public person", and uses this perspective to conduct a considerable degree of research on women's education, non-foot-binding and other aspects involved in the women's liberation movement in the Jiangnan region of the late Qing Dynasty, as well as the thoughts of women's liberation, the relationship with the country, etc.
