The book starts from the inheritance of modern Chinese academic context, and focuses on the origins of modern Ci poetry masters such as Long Yusheng, Xia Chengtao, Tang Guizhang, Zhang Ertian, Liu Yongji, Shen Zufen and Ye Jiaying. They had a greater influence, and the tradition of Ci poetry of their teachers basically came from the tradition initiated by Zhang Huiyan in the 18th century. This tradition was different from Wang Guowei's tradition, and it was also different from the tradition of Ci as a kind of vernacular literature summarized by Hu Shi at that time. This tradition means the extension of the 18th century into the 20th century. It is what Long Yusheng said, "the lingering waves of the wind have never stopped."
