Metaphorical Life
Literature隐喻的生命
Zhang Pei
"The Life of Metaphor" attempts to open up new perspectives, ideas and research fields for contemporary metaphor research. Firstly, this book provides as comprehensive a collection of representative Chinese and Western metaphor research materials as possible, and on this basis, it explores local traditional resources; secondly, this book defines the historical stages, fields and types of metaphor research; thirdly, this book takes the conflict and reconciliation of "beauty" and "truth" as its central axis, follows the law of simultaneous development of history and spirit, and integrates the research results of Chinese and Western metaphors. Starting from the four dimensions of rhetoric, poetics, philosophy of language, and epistemology-ontology philosophy, an interactive metaphor theoretical system is preliminarily established. Fourthly, a comprehensive examination of the transformative and generative properties of metaphor is conducted, thereby proving that metaphor is an organic existence that is constantly transformed and generated, and that human language, literature, cognition, and even life itself all have the transformative and generative nature of metaphor.

Hamlet: Notes and Interpretations
Literature哈姆雷特:注释与解读
Zhang Pei
"Hamlet's Problem" is an explanation and interpretation of the Western classic "Hamlet". On the basis of careful reading of the original text, the author attempts to combine Chinese and Western classics in the form of notes and poems to examine the life issues such as sacrifice, self-understanding, revenge, life and death that Hamlet, the eternal mirror of mankind, faces from a dual cultural perspective, and deeply analyzes Hamlet's character and existential circumstances, as well as the individual destiny formed by the conflict between the two. The author's multi-dimensional interpretation of Hamlet's classic soliloquy "To be or not to be?" Not only refers to the philosophical proposition that Hamlet thinks about as a "frozen mirror" of human beings/human nature, but also covers the thinking of literary categories such as "tragedy". It can be said that what the title indicates to readers is not only a problem of Hamlet as a person, a problem of metaphysical "people", but also a problem of the play "Hamlet" itself. "Tobe, or not tobe" is not only the object of the author's interpretation, but also the clue and hub for the unfolding of the interpretation.
