This article is a business trip narrative when I first entered the workplace in my twenties. It focuses on my workplace experience from 1995 to 1998, especially the experience of purchasing supplies in Datong, Shanxi Province in 1998. During those years, the wave of state-owned enterprise restructuring was sweeping across with an unstoppable force, and the buds of the market economy carried rough but vigorous vitality. Amidst the "embarrassment of debt collection", the hardships of business trips, and unexpected dangers, I touched the social fabric of the 1990s bit by bit - those unsound rules, the complex dealings between people, and the goodwill and cunning revealed in difficulties, all turned into marks of growth. The main line of the story is loyal to historical facts, some plots are artistically processed, and the names are pseudonyms, just to restore the youthful journey intertwined with bitterness and warmth, confusion and determination.
