The publication of "Stilwell and Chiang Kai-shek" received the support and encouragement of many enthusiastic people. Li Kan from the Commercial Press and Mr. Qu Tongzu from the Institute of Modern History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences gave me a lot of help and encouragement in searching for materials from that year. The many correspondences between General Stilwell's daughter, Ms. Nancy, and me had an important influence on my completion of this book. General Dai Fanli, the daughter of General Dai Anlan, had never met her before. In addition to sending me relevant information about her father, she also established contact between me and the descendants of General Stilwell. During the publishing process, the respected editor-in-chief Shen Shiming personally revised nearly 10,000 words of content. Mr. Zhang Deshang not only fulfilled his editorial responsibilities, but also acted as a classmate.
