This novel tells the story of a Christmas party at the estate of wealthy businessman Henry, where his wife Lucy's priceless diamond ring is stolen when the lights go out at the climax of the dinner. The famous detective Arthur quickly came to investigate. After observing the environment, he found that the electric switch had been tampered with and had special lubricant on it. After investigation, Amy was in a bad financial situation and was in huge debt. In the end, Arthur relied on evidence to get Amy to admit that she had carefully planned the theft to pay off her gambling debts, but her panic left a loophole, and the detective successfully solved the case.
