"Love in the South" describes the protagonist, Yin Shuchu, who was unwilling to remain in his position, bid farewell to the office life and came to the impoverished Yuebei City to serve as the deputy mayor. Here he carried out drastic reforms, such as the reform of the mining system, investment promotion and other work, which touched the interests of some people under the original local structure. Unscrupulous businessmen colluded with corrupt elements to set traps. The protagonist always sticks to the right direction despite being faced with controversy and blows, and ultimately wins the support and praise of the people.
