2019 is the 70th anniversary of the Fumei Battle and the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China. In order to solemnly commemorate this largest battle on the northwest battlefield during the War of Liberation, and to commemorate the more than 3,000 PLA ​​officers and soldiers who died in this battle, the Propaganda Department of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China specially commissioned the Party History Research Office of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Shaanxi People's Publishing House to organize efforts to compile "The Battle of Fumei". The Battle of Fumei, the full name of the Battle of Fufeng and Meixian, refers to the offensive operations conducted by the First Field Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army against the Kuomintang troops in the Fufeng and Meixian areas of Shaanxi Province during the Liberation War. This battle annihilated 4 corps, 6 divisions and 6 other regiments of the Kuomintang in one fell swoop, totaling more than 43,000 people, and liberated 9 counties including Baoji again, laying the foundation for the liberation of the northwest and southwest. It was a very important battle on the northwest battlefield during the War of Liberation, and was also the largest battle.
