This book collects 13 labor heroes who emerged in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region from the liberation of Jingbian in 1935 to 1949. Among them are Hui Zhongquan, the model county party secretary who wrote the inscription "Seek truth from facts, not empty talk" written by Chairman Mao; Tian Baolin, the cooperative leader who actively carried out production self-rescue described by the famous writer Ding Ling; and elites from various industries such as female labor hero Li Fenglian and cultural and educational hero Du Zhidong. All story selections strive to be true and accurate. To this end, the editor visited the Yan'an Revolution Memorial Hall and the places where labor heroes produced, worked and lived, reviewed relevant documentary reports in the Liberation Daily, and researched the deeds of the labor heroes based on the memories of their family members and insiders. Through the photos, medals, certificates, plaques, documents, etc. Retained by the heroes, the glorious figures and heroic images of the older generation of labor heroes were shown in the form of pictures and texts, selfless dedication, striving for excellence, and loyal service to the country. The significance of this book is: first, to vigorously promote the spirit of model workers, labor spirit, and craftsman spirit of the older generation of labor heroes to inspire future generations; second, in the year when the "Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Heroes and Martyrs" was implemented, to promote the heroic spirit and establish a social custom of advocating heroes and remembering sages.
