Yannanyuan is named because it is located in the south of Yanyuan. It was a residential area specially built for teachers in the early days of Yanyuan, covering an area of 48 acres. According to the numbering sequence of all Chinese and foreign teachers' residences at Yenching University at that time, the residences in the garden were designated No. 51 To 66 (No. 50 Was later added). In this garden, the most famous scholars in Beijing once lived. This book aims to collect and sort out the life styles of the masters who lived in Yannanyuan of Peking University, and to reproduce the historical stories of Yannanyuan, an important contemporary academic town in China.
