This book mainly examines the relationship between contemporary poetry translation and the context of the times, and strives to present the overall trend and overall appearance of Chinese contemporary poetry translation based on the study of translators. Generally speaking, Chinese contemporary translated poetry has the following characteristics: First, translated poetry in the early days of the founding of New China mainly expressed the overall emotional appeal of the new socialist country; secondly, in addition to being closely related to social politics, poetry translation during the "Cultural Revolution" period also used translated poetry to indirectly express the self-consciousness that many poets could not express normally. Third, after entering the new era, translators are often able to translate foreign poetry according to their personal interests and hobbies. In the context of a market economy, publishers and personal exchanges influence the selection and publication of poetry translations. Some translators also use translated poetry to shoulder the responsibility of intellectuals for social suffering. Thus, this book presents the complex relationship between contemporary translated poetry and the context of the times.
