This volume mainly describes the history of Germany during the Weimar Republic, and is divided into two parts and nine chapters. The first part is the German "revolutionary" era, with chapters one to four, respectively introducing the German restoration, crisis and the 1848 revolution, the first industrial revolution and rapid economic growth, the German unification movement under the leadership of Prussia, and society, thought and culture in the revolutionary era; the second part is the era of the German Empire, part two.
