This book uses the theories and methods of Chinese rhetoric to show the style of Su Shi's prose rhetoric, explores the motivations of Su Shi's prose rhetoric, and sorts out the inheritance and innovation of Su Shi's prose rhetoric on predecessors and its influence on later generations. The introduction part outlines the current situation of research on Su Shi's prose rhetoric and introduces the research methods of this topic. The first three chapters examine the style, causes and achievements of Su Shi's prose rhetoric from multiple angles and levels, including phonetic rhetoric, lexical rhetoric, syntactic rhetoric, rhetoric use and discourse rhetoric. The last four chapters, in connection with the subject matter and genre of Su Shi's prose, explore the inheritance and innovation of Su Shi's prose from previous generations in terms of rhetorical techniques and genre styles, and do a special study on the impact of Su Shi's prose rhetoric on later generations. The conclusion briefly describes the status, contribution and influence of Su Shi's prose rhetoric in the history of ancient prose rhetoric.
