The writing phenomenon of workers, peasants and soldiers that appeared from 1949 to 1966 is an important literary phenomenon and an important part of socialist realism literature. Writers of workers, peasants, and soldiers, as the main creative subjects, are a creative group strongly promoted and supported by the party and the country after liberation. They inherit the resources of left-wing literature and are also considered to be a symbol of the growth of new forces in New China literature. They embody the ideal of socialist literature. This book involves a creative group (worker writer group), a writing case (soldier writer Gao Yubao), a movement (New Folk Song Movement), and a criticism (Wu Yan). Through the description and analysis of these creative phenomena, this book attempts to restore the historical scene and present the disappearing cultural (literary) picture.
