Centered on hermeneutics, this book explores the hermeneutical concepts embodied in ancient Chinese literary works through specific analysis of poetry, novels and other texts, combined with Chinese and foreign hermeneutic theories. This book is mainly divided into three parts: the aesthetic art of poetry, the characterization in the novel, and the hermeneutic viewpoints reflected therein. Specifically, the hermeneutical concepts involved in this book mainly include: the spirit of mutual verification of poetry and history represented by the Book of Songs, the metaphorical text interpretation represented by Jiaxuan Ci, the concept of exhaustion of words and meanings embodied in "Wen Xin Diao Long", the concept of personality psychology and psychoanalysis embodied in "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio", etc.
