Liu Yuxi made outstanding contributions to the development of Tang poetry by expanding poetry themes, deepening traditional themes, and innovating poetry styles. Bai Juyi left nearly 3,000 poems in his lifetime and also put forward a complete set of poetry theories. He was an advocate of the New Yuefu Movement in the Tang Dynasty and was known as "a great poet comparable to Du Fu". This anthology organically combines the poet's life and works commentary.
