Hope is in the distance and happiness is around you. The moonlight of life is scattered on the earth and floating in the flowing water. I would like to imagine myself as a humble reed, drifting under the dim moonlight, swaying with the wind, stopping at its roots, floating or stopping, or being there or not.

"Memories of Meningguan" is the first collection of poetry and prose by Xia Wenjie, a young author from Xiaogan City. The book is composed of six series: "About Autumn", "Memories of Meningguan", "People in a Foreign Land", "About Winter", "July Rainy Season", and "Andante Cantabile". It contains 138 poems and 31 essays written by the author in more than 10 years. Most of his works have been published in Xiaogan Daily and Xiaogan Evening News. Liu Bifeng, vice chairman of the Xiaogan Federation of Literary and Art Circles and chairman of the Writers Association, and Yan Le'an, deputy editor-in-chief of Xiaogan Daily, wrote a preface to the book.
