Big Moon at Night
General Fiction三十晚上大月亮
Xia Runhe
The mountain to the east is the remnant of Longwei Mountain, called Taigang Mountain, and is where the sun rises. Taigang Mountain is steep and majestic, and its cliffs are called Baishi Cliff. The strange rocks on Baishiya constitute various pictographic figures, birds and animals. There used to be a large-scale Huayan Temple on the top of the mountain, which was built in the Tang Dynasty. According to legend, Prince Zhanghuai of the Tang Dynasty came here to worship Buddha when he was demoted to Sichuan by Wu Zetian. It is a pity that it was destroyed by a fire during the Republic of China. There is a faint horizontal black mark on the mountainside of Taigang Mountain. From a distance, it looks like a toothless old man yawning with his mouth wide open. There is the Five Buddha Cave. The cave is extremely big. The cave is as wide as five or six basketball courts. The top of the cave is very high from the ground. The highest point of the cave is dozens of feet high. The cave is so deep and bottomless that it is said that it can lead directly to Qiujiabao, which is more than ten miles away. There used to be five golden Buddhas in the cave. The Tathagata Buddha was more than ten feet tall. There were more than a thousand Buddha seats built on the cliffs of the cave walls. There is constant incense in the cave all year round. On the first and fifteenth day of the lunar calendar, there is an endless stream of people burning incense and worshiping Buddha. They come and go, and you can smell the incense even on the top of the mountain. Later, after the land reform and the "Cultural Revolution" the Red Guards "destroyed the four olds", the cave was completely destroyed. Otherwise it is a good tourist attraction now.
