This book takes the magazine "Contemporary" as the research object. While conducting microscopic research on the individual cases of "Contemporary", it also expands its focus to the analysis and investigation of the entire contemporary literature. During the research process, we not only paid attention to the intertextual relationship between "Contemporary" and Chinese contemporary realist literature, and used "Contemporary" to identify the composition and evolution process of contemporary realist literature. At the same time, we interpreted "Contemporary" from a social and historical perspective and examined the power structure within the literary production system. This book uses literary journals to see through the complex aspects of literary history at one stage, and while sorting out its evolution, it also observes the historical process of contemporary literature.
