The Imperial Structure of Ancient China

Wu Rui

540K01

This book attempts to clarify how the imperial system of ancient China was constructed. The period discussed ranges from the legendary Xia Dynasty (1994 BC - 1523 BC) to the Three Kingdoms (220 - 280 BC), which lasted for 2275 years, and is mainly before the Han Dynasty, which is "ancient China". The imperial lineage studied in this book includes two types: one is the traditional imperial lineage, that is, the legendary lineage of ancient holy kings; the other is the royal lineage that actually established dynasties, such as Xia, Shang, Zhou, Qin, and Han. Ancient China was a period of formation from tribes to countries to unified empires. The imperial line is the most important clue to decipher ancient history, and the examination of the imperial line is the central task in reconstructing ancient Chinese history.
