Qian Zhonglian is a famous poet, lyricist, expert in classical literature, and a master of Chinese studies. His attainments in Qing poetry are particularly profound. The "Chronicles of Qing Poetry" compiled by him in his later years has become a classic. There is almost no one who can compare with him in this field. This is a manuscript explaining Qing poetry by a famous writer. The manuscript is a lecture manuscript given by Qian Zhonglian when he was a doctoral student at Suzhou University, and was compiled by his disciple Wei Zhonglin. There are eight chapters in the manuscript. Because Qian has a profound knowledge of Qing poetry and has already known all the poems by heart, there is no textbook when teaching. He teaches them all the way from the early Qing Dynasty to the late Qing Dynasty; whether tracing the origins, uncovering hidden treasures , express secrets, analyze and comment, all are eloquently told, and quoted from other sources, erudite and comprehensive, and new thoughts and ideas. The description is not limited to one poem, person, or event. This kind of skill is beyond the ability of ordinary scholars or historical books.
